Rolling bearings
Rolling bearings support and guide rotating or oscillating machine elements – such as shafts, axles or wheels – and transfer loads between machine components. They provide high precision and low friction and therefore enable high rotational speeds while reducing noise, heat, energy consumption and wear. Rolling bearings are cost-effective and exchangeable machine elements that typically follow national or international dimension standards.

Ball bearings
Ballbearing types: -
Deep groove ball bearings
Deep groove ball bearings are the most widely used bearing type and are particularly versatile. They have low friction and are optimized for low noise and
low vibration which enables high rotational speeds. They accommodate radial and axial loads in both directions, are easy to mount, and require less maintenance than other bearing types.
Insert bearings (Y-bearings)

Insert bearings (SKF Y-bearings) are based on sealed deep groove ball bearings in the 62 and 63series, but have a convex outer ring and in most cases an extended
inner ring with a specific locking device, enabling quick and easy mounting onto the shaft.
Angular contact ball bearings

Angular contact ball bearings have inner and outer ring raceways that are displaced relative to each other in the direction of the bearing axis. This means that these bearings are designed to accommodate combined loads, i.e. simultaneously acting radial and axial loads.
The axial load carrying capacity of angular contact ball bearings increases as the contact angle increases. The contact angle is defined as the angle between the line joining the points of contact of the ball and the raceways in the radial plane, along which the combined load is transmitted from one raceway to another, and a line perpendicular to the bearing axis
Included following types: -
Single row angular contact ball bearings
Incorporating a large number of balls to give it a relatively high load carrying capacity, these bearings can accommodate axial loads in one direction only, are typically adjusted against a second bearing and have non-separable rings.

Double row angular contact ball bearings
With a design corresponding to two single row bearings arranged back-to-back, but where two single bearings take up too much axial space, they can accommodate radial and axial loads in either direction and tilting moments.
Four-point contact ball bearings
Designed to support axial loads in both directions and have a high load carrying capacity, these bearings can support a limited radial load for a given axial load, use less axial space than double row bearings and are separable.

Self-aligning ball bearings

Self-aligning ball bearings have two rows of balls, a common sphered raceway in the outer ring and two deep uninterrupted raceway grooves in the inner ring. They are available open or sealed. The bearings are insensitive to angular misalignment of the shaft relative to the housing, which can be caused, for example, by shaft deflection.
Applications
Here are examples of applications in which self-aligning ball bearings might be used:
- Industrial fans
- Agriculture
- Material handling
- Food and beverage
- Pulp and paper
Thrust ball bearings

SKF thrust ball bearings are manufactured as single direction or double direction thrust ball bearings. They are designed to accommodate axial loads only and must not be subjected to any radial load.
In addition to the bearings presented in this section, SKF supplies thrust ball bearings for special application requirements. This assortment includes bearings with Solid Oil and No Wear coated bearings.
Angular contact thrust ball bearings
SKF angular contact thrust ball bearings are separable, i.e. the washers and ball and cage assemblies can be mounted independently of each other. Although originally designed to support the rotary tables of drilling rigs, they are also suitable for other applications.
Roller bearings
Roller bearing types: -
Cylindrical roller bearings

SKF Cylindrical roller bearings are available in a wide range of designs, series, variants and sizes. The main design differences are the number of roller rows and the inner/outer ring flanges as well as cage designs and materials.
The bearings can meet the challenges of applications faced with heavy radial loads and high speeds. Accommodating axial displacement (except for bearings with flanges on both the inner and outer rings), they offer high stiffness, low friction and long service life.
Cylindrical roller bearings are also available in sealed or split designs. In sealed bearings, the rollers are protected from contaminants, water and dust, while providing lubricant retention and contaminant exclusion. This provides lower friction and longer service life.Split bearings are intended primarily for bearing arrangements which are difficult to access, such as crank shafts, where they simplify maintenance and replacements.
Included following types: -
Single row cylindrical roller bearings
SKF single row cylindrical roller bearings are available in many designs, series and sizes. The major design differences between the bearings presented in this section are in:
the cage design and material
the configuration of the inner and outer ring flanges
High-capacity cylindrical roller bearings
SKF high-capacity cylindrical roller bearings have the high load carrying capacity of full complement bearings and the high speed capability of bearings with cage. They are designed for applications such as industrial gearboxes, wind turbine gearboxes and mining equipment.
